HAYS HIGH SCHOOL
SENIOR ECONOMICS PROJECT
MR. FERRELL
SCENARIO:
You are 22 years old and looking towards your future as a financially independent individual. You will do everything else on your own. You need to create a detailed personal future financial plan and budget that will secure your independence. No parents, no roommates,...nothing to depend on but your own head on your shoulders!
You currently have $5,000 in a savings account to start with, (thanks Grandparents!) that may be spent on either necessity or luxury items, or if you choose, not at all.
During the activity, you will be drawing for a random life event that may be benificial or detrimental.
The project starts by doing a Reality Check. (Click on the link) When you are done, you will print out your final page. (ask me if you don't know which one)
Next you create a folder with the following information:
* Cover Page
* Reality Check Page
* Location Page
* Housing Page
* Transportation Page
* Personal Expenses Page
You will then create a powerpoint using the information from the pages. There is one made for you to help you. You will also need to turn in a monthly budget. Deadlines below.
Deadlines:
Nov 22nd: You will need to turn in your data pages in a folder.
You will need to put the data forms and the answers in a folder and turn them in.
Dec 9-11: We will be presenting our powerpoint presentations to the class.
Remember you need to create a monthly budget and one showing me how you spent your $5k.
